CORAL
Re: CORAL
I guess my design sense is something I can call my own, right? I mean everyone else can design their own stuff, and I can base my designs on previous works, but in the end, the way I combine things is up to me.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
To be honest, I got to do whatever I wanted. It was great. Awesome. Fantastic. I was rich and had all the opportunities available so I wasn't limited to anything. In a way, being extremely rich is kind of special in itself, right?
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I've been here long enough to get a good idea of how people would react because I've already seen it. They kinda gave me the look of, "oh he's part of the 'normal' sphere" or "oh boy he's gonna freak out when people start dying". To be fair, it's not like they were wrong . . .
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
Yeah, probably? I mean it's not like everyone out there will get a chance to be rich like me, right? Though at the same time, I'd never get the chance to be as poor as them either. Uhhh . . . not that there is a problem, well it's not like I want to be poor, but I mean there are things we both wouldn't understand right? But that's not the only thing! I don't know what it's like to have powers and they probably have no idea what it's like to fight without them. They're pretty strong guys so I don't mind.
What I'm saying is that we're all different and from different worlds and places and stuff so of course we're not going to understand everything about each other. And it's ok. You just have to try, and learn what you can and work together. That's what make these things interesting, right?

RUBY
Re: RUBY
Uh, a bunch of stuff? I don't know, I'm not just composed of parts. It's all me that makes me—well, me.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
For one, I was—am a butt-kicking superhero! I guess. . . it was that. That, and the watch. It's pretty special, alright. Betcha there isn't another one like it in the whole galaxy.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Eh? Most people don't even know what superheroes are. I didn't really expect that—I didn't exactly expect fans or anything, but you know, some. . . shock, awe, something would have been nice. But no. It's, "What's a superhero?" and "that's kind of impractical the world isn't black and white" and you know, stuff like that. Whatever, man.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
Eh? I dunno, I guess I don't really think they'd get the whole. . . superhero, watch thing. I mean, it's not like it'd come up anyway. This survey, it's all a secret, right? It's not really an issue, so I've never really thought about it. I hear Loki's a superhero too, so maybe he'd get it. Maybe he wouldn't. But hey, half the time I don't understand my own teammates—I mean, if we always understood people all the time, then there wouldn't be any need for communication, right? That's just how it is.
JASPER
Re: JASPER
That's a peculiar question . . . it seems to me you're thinking of one thing that marks us out as different from our peers. Honestly, though, if I had some characteristic like that, I wouldn't tell you about it. I hope that doesn't offend you.
In any case, I've been here long enough to wonder, across all the worlds that exist, how much really qualifies as unique. I've been on a team with a boy who turns into a snake, and a talking pigeon, and . . . well, whatever Saya is. I've met telepaths and magical girls, rulers and witches and even a few gods. People who are kind and forceful and lazy and--absolutely insane, to be honest. I couldn't say--even the things that I still feel . . . separate me from the rest of humanity . . . those feelings might be wrong. It's possible I simply haven't yet met the people who share those experiences.
So there's no single thing about myself I could confidently state as unique. But I still don't think I'm like anyone else--it's everything I've done and been that sets me apart. I've lived on a ship that's an island. I've helped save the world. I'm an information-gatherer and a strategist, and I'd challenge anyone to prove themselves better than me. I've been on a team that shouts stupid catchphrases, and one that once chopped their heads off just to prove a point.
I've dismissed kindness and heroics, and--in time, come to understand their value and power. And I'm not very nice, but I think, in a world apparently full of naive, soft-hearted idiots, that there's some value in that, too.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
. . . our experiences, I think, create understanding. Of problems that are similar to those we have faced in the past, or simply a greater appreciation of what is important and true. Ah, I suppose that's pretty vague. I'll give you an example, if you want.
I said that I'd helped save the world. My--comrades and I turned back something much like the Darkness from ours. It's the last thing I remember. When our own strength was insufficient, we turned to gods, and we pitted our strength of will and our world's power against the forces of fear and despair. And we did it all without having to resort to games in which people are forced to kill one another. Your fellow Personae's spells have made that complicated, but when I say there has to be a better way, I'm not speaking out of idle naivete. I know for a fact that there is one.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Information isn't free, you know.
. . . a more, hmm, direct way of putting that would be to say--I haven't told anyone about my past for quite a while, although sometimes they've found out despite my best efforts. I'm not about to start now, but perhaps I can answer the question I believe you're asking.
If you're wondering if people here will hunt or hurt you for your secrets, I sincerely doubt that they will. Maybe if you run dangerous games. If--you're afraid that they might dislike you, abandon you, perhaps . . . I can't speak to that as easily. Undoubtedly some people will. But I have been continually surprised astounded, in fact by the capacity of people to ignore or overlook all sorts of things in the interest of continuing to befriend someone they've liked. I've known people who had murderous urges, or who caused the apocalypse, apparently, somehow, or who were--frankly, completely unhinged and awful. In no case were any of these people completely un-cared for.
Murderers, too. Very popular, those murderers. You'd be surprised.
My point is that you can be a number of rather unpleasant things and still manage to find people who care about none of them. And that no secret you might hold should prevent you from forming whatever circle of support and affection you desire.
(I can only recommend marshalling such a circle, by the way. It opens a number of doors, provided you're clear-sighted enough to notice that they've appeared.)
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
My team is a collection of individuals, subject to continuous change. Not everything I do revolves around them. But as for the current set . . . some are too new for me to know what they might or might not understand. Others don't seem to understand much, although I wouldn't claim that their comprehension of the important things is particularly lacking.
. . . lack of understanding isn't rejection, you realize. Even if it's never, or can't be, bridged. It's nothing more than what it is. I wouldn't say--that understanding is necessary for compassion, either. You can be extraordinarily stupid and kind at the same time.
Re: JASPER
My unique outlook on life.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
Because I am a tremendously special, unique, and powerful person. One creates the other.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Part of them would be confused, but an undeniable part of them would be awed and impressed beyond words.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
Are you kidding? Even I don't understand my own memories. But I don't need to understand them. I just need to believe in them.
CITRINE
Re: CITRINE
I had amnesia three times now. No-one else I know forgot all their memories that many times. I died once too, but then I came back. I think a lot of people died back home, but I only know about people that came back to life here because the Personae brought them back.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
I think they made me special because no-one else I know went through them. But I don't feel special when I think about that. I feel special when I think about my friends back home, so I like to think being their friend was what made me special.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Most people get confused when I tell them about my memories, and sometimes they get really unhappy. That's usually because they think it's sad I lost my memory so many times and died though.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
One of my teammate understood what it was like to have amnesia more than once. The others have faced bad games here too, so I think they would understand some of the bad stuff that happened back home. They still get confused sometimes, but they always try to understand. Even if they don't understand now, I think they'll understand later.
CARNELIAN
Re: CARNELIAN
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special? They made me go through a hell of a lot that no one else here has gone through?
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them? I don't know... people always focus on the wrong parts of things. It's kind of irritating... it's like they stop listening.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not? They just can't really understand what my world is like, because they're not from there.

TIGER'S EYE
Re: TIGER'S EYE
My love of music! It makes me happy, and I'm always happy to share it.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I don't think telling people about my past is a problem. I don't have anything in it that I'm ashamed of, or think people will have a bad reaction to.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
If they didn't understand, I wouldn't be surprised. It's kind of hard to talk about home and my past without it sounding like a perfect world.
HELIODOR
Re: HELIODOR
Um, I'm not sure if anyone can answer this and really grasp the essence?? I think the things that make people unique are often in small combination of traits... for me, my anxiety, and my love for fishing, and my stubbornness, maybe. Plenty of people have some of these... but... uniqueness is in the combination of different things.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
I met aliens. I think that's pretty unusual.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I don't have any kind of tragic past. My parents left? I live with my grandmother? There's...nothing to hide. It's just... what it is.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
I... I don't think that's easy to answer. Everyone's different, and values different things, and has their own experiences. Some people will be able to understand it easily like that, and other people won't. I know some teammates have really complicated experiences, which I know I want to understand but I'm not sure I fully can. But... I think everyone would try to understand it?
PERIDOT
Re: PERIDOT
My neck scarf is my charm point! I also have great legs.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
I have mastered the homeless life while still working to the best of my abilities! Now that I'm in Aather, I get a home without working at all! I can appreciate it in a way that no one else can of course.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I'd rather not find out nor think about it, thanks.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
They might not understand my greatness because without my skills and my shinki, they can't see all of my coolness in person!

Re: PERIDOT
Here? It's because I'm one of the most devoted cardfighters around...and am currently the only one that's still here and playing in the games. Back home, I was the best cardfighter with the Dark Irregulars clan and was called The Demon General for good reason.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
It meant I came into this place with a mindset to win, which kind of stands out when most people here seem to be really big in 'cooperation' instead of 'competition'. But I think I learned to adapt to it and am able to switch between competitive or cooperative depending on what's needed, which is a pretty useful skill to have in the games.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Apparently introducing yourself as 'the Demon General' means sometimes people freak out. I don't think that's people freaking out because I'm unique, so much as people freaking out because Demons were probably a real danger on their world and a Demon General would probably freak someone out. Usually they seem okay with it when I explain it's cards, though apparently people are from worlds were cardfighting isn't a thing.
I don't get how they managed to survive either.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
My team is full of unique people. We have a God, an alien fish, and...apparently a lot of other unique people before I even arrived. I don't think that means they'd understand everything perfectly, but I think that most of them would 'get it'.
EMERALD
Re: EMERALD
It's a combination of all of the little things that make him who he is. His compassion, kindness, and dedication to others stand out. He'd get embarrassed by that, I think, but you can tell by the way he treats the people around him with respect and keeps his composure even in tough situations. It makes him very, well, regal would be a good word for it. But it's not as if he's just that; he's easygoing and can put others at ease with his personality. I've never thought of him as unapproachable or difficult to talk to. When he gives you a smile that says he believes in you and he cares, well, I think that's pretty special.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
He's a prince, so that's shaped who he is, I'd say. But it suits him! I think he really loves being a prince. I don't know if he would say that here, but he loves his country and his people. He loves being around them and seeing how they live their lives. It helped to shape how he views the world and how he interacts with it. Even if he hadn't experienced those things...I think he would still be the same, because that's just how he is.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I wasn't there for him telling people about his past, but I don't know if they would have made any big deal out of it. People here don't mind status so much, at least from my experience. If there's anything else in his past then he would have to say.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
Mm, well, that might be something only he can say. I think there will be struggles from time to time even in the best of circumstances, but he's good at communicating. As long as he expresses himself to them, I think it would work out.

TURQUOISE
Re: TURQUOISE
Hmm... Obviously I'm my own individual person, so I dunno if you need much personal stuff here. Everyone's unique in little ways, and everyone's alike in a bunch of little ways too, far as personality and thoughts go. Physically though, I'd say I'm well unique from everyone else here, and most people back home, too.
I'm a therianthrope, a panther, specifically. My world's the Beast World, and everyone's got the ability to turn between a beast and a human form. If you spend too long in the beast one, you'll lose your thoughts and go feral. If you're smart and clever, you can get by without relying on being a beast, though it is good for fights. Now, beasts get picked up by people from the Magic World sometimes to be "cats." There's a power-saving housecat shape, which I do got, but our job is to be the magician's bodyguard for fights. A magician has to be guarded while they spellcast, and those guys are always fighting each other for rank and power. In exchange, the cat gets a wish granted.
That's where I'm special. I was the magician king of Maurice's cat for my first job, and the wish I got from him made me immortal. It's not working here yet, but I'm a few hundred years old. How many centuries-old immortal shapeshifting cat people have you got here? Oh yeah, my special cat skill is to set my blood on fire and turn it into a flaming sword.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
Well, it's those experiences before Aather that made me an immortal cat with firey blood.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Mmm, sometimes they get a little concerned, but they don't like one part. I don't like it either. The me before got a wizard to make him immortal, but now he's trying to find a wizard that will let him die. I don't remember what I wanted to become immortal for, but it sounds like I gave up. I don't like that trying to die thing, and my friends don't like it either, but they're not gonna let me start feeling like that again. He was heartbroken, but I have love here.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
My team gets it. Some strangers are jerks about it. One guy said my Beast form was "foul magic," which it's not. The cat form is the magical one, and I don't need some tattooed punk calling Tarnist's magic foul either. That's my master getting disrespected! Tarnia's magic is beautiful. H's the current king of Maurice, by the way, and the one that's going to kill me.

SAPPHIRE
Re: SAPPHIRE
It isn't all that she is, though. She's thoughtful, she cares about the people around her. It can be hard to tell, but she doesn't want to cause trouble or disagreement. She goes out of her way not to. So, when she's honest and stands up for something, that means it really means something to her. It isn't to be difficult, because that's exactly what she doesn't want.
Her smile is pretty special, too . . .
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special? Hm, they probably made her special, because they helped to forge the way she looks at and interacts with the world? Aside from particular circumstances, I don't think where we came from was what made her who she was, because she hasn't changed very much from what I remember. At least, that's the feeling we have about each other and that's what I value.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them? I wasn't there, but I can guess that they thought almost everyone from where we come from is an idiot for acting the way they do about a girl with red hair. Besides that, they probably weren't too concerned about her memories if they listened to her telling them not to be . . . But they were if they cared about her.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not? Eh, well, I may have gotten close to it before. I know she's had trouble when it came to disagreeing with her team. It isn't that they wouldn't, though. They're not like that. It is hard to understand without talking through those disagreements, without explaining what you're thinking and feeling. Once you see where the person is coming from, even if you don't agree, you can't deny that point of view. Getting there is what she struggles with when it comes to being unique and part of Sapphire.

Re: SAPPHIRE
The events I have lived through, and the roles I had played during the course of my life. The collection of experiences that shape a person, and what they pulled from those experiences and choose to do about them, is what makes a person truly unique.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
If I did not lead the life I had back on my home world, then I can't imagine that I would have any of the devotion to saving this world and its people that I have now. And I would not have the same perspective towards this world's Story and the Personae bound to it. I imagine if you were to ask someone else about what stands out about me, they would mention that devotion.
...Or they would mention the beard and eyebrows first, as that is apparently the easiest way to distinguish me from a crowd.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
That depends on which part I told them about. At the very least, I can say that I have seen a full spectrum of reactions due to my highly unique past life.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
I don't think they understand, and I don't think they ever would truly want to. That isn't necessarily a problem, given some of the more...frightening aspects of my previous life. It's probably best that there are people fighting for this world who could never understand why Auldrant was the way it was -- and why I chose the path I did.
IOLITE
Re: IOLITE
The most readily apparent answer to that is that, as you could tell with a look at me, is that I am a dragon. Now, dragons are common enough where I come from, with some countries such as China hosting populations that number in the thousands of thousands, and even small nations such as England should not have their own populations disregarded, though they are but a few hundreds and almost entirely military rather than being a welcome and common sight in and among the citizenry. The point is, is that in my world we are not some unseen, unknown mythical beast. We might be rare or secretive in some places, but we are living creatures like any deer or bird or human is.
Among dragons, however, I am especially unique. I would not imply that I am the only special dragon and all others are rank-and-file the same, that would be untrue and disservice to a million individual and remarkable dragons. But we are not talking about them here, though you might ask Night on Amethyst to tell you of Perscitia, if you would know of another dragon who came into Aather.
My own uniqueness comes of my breeding, and of some other coincidences and efforts that I shall cover in the next segment, being particular as they are to the circumstances of my world. I am a dragon, but more specifically, I am a Celestial, or tien-lung. As I mentioned previously, China is home to a remarkable number of dragons of all shapes and sizes, but the most prized breed among them is my own. Where they have hundreds, our number is but a dozen and all of a single family. We are hatched of chance breedings between Celestials and Imperials, or even more rarely an Imperial pair out of hundreds might produce a Celestial egg as was the case with Grandfather's hatching so many years ago. We are the only breed suitable to be paired with the royal family, as we are considered to have the finest balance of wit, strength, and form. We are also the only dragons in all the world that possess the ability of the Divine Wind, a roar with the capability of building waves, splitting rock, moving clouds, and curshing our opponents with only the force of sound.
My mother is Lung Tien Qian, a Celestial, and my sire was Lung Qin Gao, an Imperial whose companion is a Prince of the third rank. I have not met him, but my mother is a wonderful, intelligent, and wise creature whose opinion is revered most highly by the Emperor and his Court. My hatching is of special note too in that she clutched two eggs: my elder twin Lung Tien Chuan is the companion to the Crown Prince Mianning.
My captain has been made a prince by his connection to me, but he is not of the Court originally, nor even Chinese at all. He is British, and he served as a captain in the Navy before he met me and was brought into the Aerial Corps. In that Corps, I should note, I am now with the rank of Commodore, though it is somewhat on-hold with our brief exilement to Australia, but I have had some indiciations that is only a temporary arrangement, though I have not yet remembered it properly. But I am going on, and the circumstances of this arrangement is perhaps more suited to the next section, so I shall move on.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
Of course, my experiences before Aather are not ones that anyone else here has experienced. There is Perscitia, who I mentioned previously, but she spent most of her thrity-odd years in the breeding grounds in Britain, whereas I have been from China in the egg, to England, to China, and all through Africa and the middle of Asia and to Australia over the sea.
My egg was taken out of China because, as I said before, my egg was in a twin clutch, and that would have created a political mess, as any companion of mine would have had a claim to the throne to rival Mianning's. Indeed, at one time, there was a plot undertaken to have my companion viciously murdered in the hopes that I would take the younger prince Miankai as my companion, which of course I would never do, I will have no companion after my Laurence. It is not necessary for dragons to have captains and companions, though of course I like my Laurence very much, I could not see him wholly replaced, not even if it was Vincent or Yuta or Snow. But so, because my egg could not stay with the Court but could not go to any common lord or soldier either, I was to be sent in the shell to France, to the self-proclaimed Emperor Napoleon. My ship did not arrive, as it was seized by my Laurence's ship. France and England are at war, you see, so my egg was a rightful prize.
I had learned Chinese and French and English and the shell, and it was becoming much more exicitng outside of my shell than it was inside it, and I was becoming very hungry, so I hatched out. Laurence gave me a name and something to eat, and now he is my captain and nobody else may have him from me. I am called Obsidian here, but the name he gave to me is Temeraire, after a ship-of-the-line. In China, I am Lung Tien Xiang. This was an irregular start by the Corps' reckoning, a rare Chinese dragon— they at the time thought I was an Imperial, which are still very valuable dragons without being Celestials —and here I had had hatched out at sea to a naval captain. There was an attempt to have him replaced, but that was not permitted to pass.
I am pleased to say that we have always been irregular, since then and now. I am the first dragon to be given rank after I brought up an army to chase the invading French, I have won pay for the dragons of the Corps, I have assisted in the successful procurement and hatching of a Kazilik, I helped destroy a plotted coup in China, I have been into Africa and seen the dragon-led kingdom there, I have gone all across Australia across land never surveyed before by dragons, I have fought the French all across Europe from Prussia to Poland, and I have been into France too. It was for that last action that we were regarded traitors, but I have no guilt for it except for how it affected Laurence's rank and standing, for what we did was to give them a cure against a plague that had wreaked havoc across the English population, and I did not want to see innocent French dragons nor my friends in their breeding grounds killed sneakily by a trap of disease that they had no fair chance against.
I am more traveled than any other dragon, including Lien who has harassed me all over Europe, because she did not follow me to Africa or Australia. I am a scholar in England where most dragons and many humans do not care to learn reading or writing or arithmatic. I have led battles, and won them too. I have won rights for dragons that they never had before and that noone dared to let them think they could deserve. I have been very busy in my half dozen years of life, and I will be even busier and even more greatly unique upon my return when they will all have to take in what changes I have developed in Aather and the uniqueness I have further become here. I am the first dragon I have ever met to have tattoos, for example.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Oh! They have always been very interested, but really, I do it less by telling and more by showing. I have many memories that I can share, and I am glad to let others see. Most often I share one that recalls a time where I trained the Prussian dragon in new manuevers, since they had been stubbornly sitcking to Frederick the Great's old and out-dated methods which were no longer effective against anyone else who had seen a Prussian dragon fight in the last decade or read the his writings. They are always entralled with the great size of the dragons and properly impressed with my guidance, though it is my own size that is the most remarkable, as I am plainly much smaller here.
Would you like to see the memory for yourself?
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
Some of them might not understand that if I meet Lung Tien Lien here I will try to kill her on sight, as that is an unforgiving act and merciless to an amenesiac, but she deserves neither mercy nor forgivement no matter her circumstances, and I think the teammates I have currently would understand. Vincent agreed to help. New teammates have now and again had the issue of disbelieving that I am rational, thinking person who would never eat them, but they get over that eventually, with some effort. Really I cannot say that I can think of anything that my team would not be able to understand, not with time taken to speak with them or show them my reasonings. I cannot ever underestimate my teammates, they are always remarkable and even those that I have had difficulty with once have their own great characteristics. They are all my teammates and allies, and I trust they will always try to understand me and so I shall to them.

Mm. I don't know. Is that bad? I don't think anything makes me different from someone else. There are a lot of people here with magic or who aren't a person and they can still talk. There's people who's lives have been sad or who are really ferocious. They're all really interesting! I'm just me. Rin. Starlit. Cat. I don't have any special abilities. Though I can make the best ramen~ (Come to me if you want some, okay?)
I think I'm as unique as the next person, in my own way! That's right, that's what I think. Everyone has something special about them. It's like a note planted on their back even if they can't see~ Even me, even if I can't see it right away! You might not be able to see it, but someone else will. I love being able to meet people and learn all sorts of things about them~
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
I'm not really special... I go to high school, I play with my friends, and I make lots of ramen~ That's what my life was for a long while! I played sports and did things. But then one day, Muse appeared! What's Muse?
It's a group. It's our group. I remember lots about it now. There were nine of us and everyday we'd gather to practice and sing together. I didn't want to be an idol. I wasn't really fit to be one, you know? I was like a boy and I liked playing sports... but Kayochin and the others, they pushed me along! And now... I love dancing more than anything else! I love seeing people smile when they hear our songs~ I want to spread the cheer everyday.
I'm not special. Muse is special! Together the nine of us can sing all the bad things away and bring energy and cheer to everyone~ That's the most special and amazing thing of all!
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I didn't show people memories this time~ Because they've seen some! A lot of people were really excited! That's the effect Muse has on people! I don't do anything that would be hurtful or scary to others, really~ So what I can do is bring them lots of cheer!
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
I almost didn't answer this one. I'm sorry.
The truth is, when I arrived here I didn't think they liked me at all... I'm not quiet or studious. I'm not good at asking questions about scary things. I want to have fun and do lots of things. What I want to do is try a lot and learn a lot, in my own way~ But it's not a lot like them, you know? Sometimes, I still feel a little like some of them don't like me at all...
Hmm~
...I think "Amethyst" is a team that was hurt and lonely until recently, you know? When I arrived there wasn't a lot of us. And now suddenly there is! I don't know what I can do for any of them. I'm still the newest in a lot of ways. I haven't done a lot or seen a lot. My life's really simple too... But I don't think it matters so much. Even if they don't understand singing or how I am sometimes, we're still a team. And what that means to me is that we work together! So I'll keep doing my best to try and win as many games as possible~ I'll do my best to do what I think is right, too! That's always firs! Mm... And I'll do my be best to be friends with everyone.
Because it's unfair of me to treat them differently just 'cause I think something like that, you know? I don't want to think it... And I don't think it's true really. A part of me believes it's not because they accepted me and called me a member of "Amethyst"! Even if it's just a little thing, that means a lot.
So I guess... I don't know how they feel about me, but that's okay. Because I'm going to do my best for them as a member of Amethyst. As a friend, hee~
KUNZITE
Re: KUNZITE
. . . I'm not going to point to singular traits; if I say something about my situation, or my skills, or my physical traits, then of course one can point to someone other individual with a matching trait eventually, even in this microcosmic community. What makes me unique is the road of my life and my memories, and the actions I have taken and have yet to take; the singular combination of personal traits and experiences that make me who and what I am and what I have done.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
My experiences are the mark I have made on the clay of my world and the way the world has marked my clay in turn, to date. They have made me special because they are tied to me in that fashion. They sound blander on paper than they are -- 'I went to school.' 'I learned magic.' 'I joined a war.' -- but had I not been there, they would not have happened exactly as they had; and if they had not happened to me, I would not be exactly as I am now.
They are mine and I am theirs; I would not exchange them for something easier or happier.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
They noticed that my past is full of idiots.
. . . to answer a little less flippantly, I certainly haven't shared everything about my memories with others -- some of it is simply embarrassing, or too personal. But what I have shared has met mixed receptions; some incredulity, some utter inscrutability, some amusement. Feelings, opinions.
"Those people were here before you," and "I don't have anything like that," are perhaps the most memorable ones to date. The second feels appropriate to this survey too, no?
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
Half my team isn't human, and most of them come from rather different cultural and technological contexts. I don't think any one of them can understand myself and my background fully, no, but that applies both ways. Understanding is touching on points in common -- I believe that between myself and another, there will always be a gap in understanding; because if there were not, they would be me and I would be them.
But . . . there will always be places where the gap can be bridged, and the bridges built upon. Bonds, if you must use that terminology, run on that principle somewhat, don't they?
STERLING
Mickey Mouse
Well, seems like I'm the only fella around here that's a talkin' mouse... But other than that, in my world, looks like I'n the king. I think that's pretty important!
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
I married the girl of my dreams, and had some fantastic friends by my side. And I kept making more friends! I keep fightin' the good fight, and helpin' those who need help.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I don't really got anythin' bad ta hide, and if anyone asks about what I remember, I tell 'em! Most of my pals were pretty shocked ta learn I was married, and a king, but they took it really well! And why wouldn't they?
Re: STERLING
At home it was probably my powers and the way I use them. I don't think many people could do what I did the way I did it. I don't know if that's true here, though -- a lot of people can do a lot of things. It's better that way, I think. But I know nobody thinks the same way everyone else does; nobody has the same feelings or biases or ways of seeing things. So maybe that's it.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
I'm not sure I can answer that; I still don't remember much. But nobody's supposed to be able to travel back in time the way I did.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
Mostly people just accept it, or ask good questions. I didn't have time to share any in particular, but I've talked about my memories before.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not? I don't really think about Sterling that way, sorry. There's so many of us that the idea of Sterling as a whole understanding something or not is strange. But the other knights I've told understood fine.
Re: STERLING
Probably my Semblance? I don't know anyone else that has any kind of power like it.
How have your life experiences before Aather made you special?
...it's not in a good way. My family has done some pretty awful stuff, and I feel like I'd just get bogged down in the mess.
How do you think people would react if you told them about your past? How did they react if you did tell them?
I'm really not sure. I don't like talking about my family, so it would probably never come up.
Do you feel that any of these things are something your team wouldn't understand? Why or why not?
I think Sterling is so independent that at least one person on the team would understand it.
